Witt Associates is a rapidly growing national consulting firm in Public Safety and Crisis Management. We are currently looking for EOC Support Consultants.

A Disaster Response Specialist – EOC support Consultant is responsible for applying his/her professional and academic knowledge and subject matter expertise specifically focused in the areas of emergency and disaster management, incident command, NIMS, and emergency response. The consultant will augment our client’s EOC staff to support the command and general staff in the areas of operations, planning, logistics, and administration/finance during a protracted emergency event.

He/she must be highly professional and able to handle a broad variety of tasks with a high degree of independence and sound judgment, and be able to work with other project team members, sometimes in a virtual environment

Duties:

Essential Functions (not all required for each individual consultant)
• Possess the necessary NIMS/ICS training ICS Position Specific Skill Sets
• Possess the necessary ICS Position Specific Skill Sets
• Support client response operations through information gathering / tracking / reporting functions
• Assess and identify current and anticipated resource shortages, technical support issues, and potential policy issues
• Provide strategic guidance and direction to support incident management activities
• Coordinate and assist client with developing response priorities
• Interface and communicate with appropriate Federal, State and local personnel
• Prepare project deliverables to meet client expectations
• Review and evaluate local, State and Federal laws and regulations as they relate to emergency management and homeland security

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
• BS/BA degree in related field. Post graduate degree in and a post graduate degree in homeland security, emergency management/planning or other related subject is desirable
• Minimum of four (4) years of related experience

• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a changing work environment.
• Ability to work independently and/or on a team
• Strong organizational skills
• Comfortable interacting with Clients and Client Stakeholders
• Excellent phone and interpersonal skills (clients, colleagues, vendors)
• Proficient computer skills: (including MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint; Adobe Acrobat Professional; and potentially MS Access, ESRI products, MS Visio, ArcView, and other applications; and the ability to learn new products as needed)


Technical Requirements:
• Relevant professional certification (i.e., CEM, FPEM, CFM, AICP or CPP)
• Completion of FEMA/EMI NIMS/ICS Courses
• Completion of ICS Position Specific Skill Sets
• Completion of FEMA/EMI Advanced Professional Series or Professional Development Series
