Witt Associates is a rapidly growing national consulting firm in Public Safety and Crisis Management. We are currently looking for Emergency Management Planning Consultants.
An Emergency Management Planning Consultant is responsible for applying his/her professional and academic knowledge and ability to the public safety and preparedness planning arena. The individual must be a very capable writer and communicator and provide subject matter expertise. He/she must be highly professional and able to handle a broad variety of tasks with a high degree of independence and sound judgment, and be able to work with other project team members, sometimes in a virtual environment.

Duties: |
• Conduct homeland security and emergency management research under the direction of a project manager
• Complete technical writing for project work in accordance with contract scope of work
• Interface and communicate with clients
• Execute project plans and prepare project deliverables to meet client expectations
• Prepare responses to Requests for Qualifications or Proposals, and technical documents including statements of work
• Coordinate and assist clients with developing Emergency Response, Multi-Hazard Functional, and/or Mitigation Plans in accordance with Federal and State requirements
• Review and evaluate local, State and Federal laws and regulations as they relate to emergency management and homeland security
• Coordinate and assist clients with developing Continuity of Operations, Continuity of Government, Business Continuity Plans, and emergency communication and notification plans and procedures, in accordance with Federal and State guidelines
• Research, analyze, and develop emergency preparedness procedures and resources
• Coordinate, develop and execute vulnerability/risk assessments
• Be familiar with the DHS preparedness guidance. Construct, analyze and write homeland security and emergency management strategies and investment justifications
• Aid in the design, development, facilitation and evaluation of tabletop, functional and full-scale exercises
• Participate in business development activities, to include writing white papers and proposals, and attending conferences and trade shows |
Qualifications: |
Education and Experience:
• BS/BA degree in related field. Post graduate degree in and a post graduate degree in homeland security, emergency management/planning or other related subject is desirable.
• 5+ years in experience in homeland security, hazard mitigation, emergency management and/or business continuity planning

Technical Requirements:
• Relevant professional certification (i.e., CEM, FPEM, CFM, AICP or CPP)
• Completion of FEMA/EMI Advanced Professional Series or Professional Development Series
• Technical certification as a Master Trainer, Master Exercise Practitioner, HSEEP Train-the-Trainer, ICS Train-the-Trainer, COOP Program Manager, and/or Emergency Planning
