College Graduate - Engineer

Description:

ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS ONLY NO POSITIONS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE

1. Technical advisor at onsite field construction office.

2. Must be able to access all areas and levels of construction site for work progress review.

3. Work schedule must be flexible to allow extended periods of overtime or off-shift work to accommodate changing construction sequences.

4. Clear communication skills in speech, handwriting and computer formatting required for responding to information requests.

5. Lifting and carrying of documents and survey equipment up to 40 pounds.

6. Able to relocate.

Duties:

1. Interpretation of blueprint construction drawings and technical manuals.

2. Writing and publishing meeting minutes, schedule graphs and activity checklists.

3. Receiving and distributing requests for information and change documents issued by other offices.

4. Organization and filing of record documents.

5. Field surveying and layout of control lines and benchmarks.

6. Information storage and retrieval using computer.

Qualifications:

. Education background in materials and methods of construction. BS in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or equivalent degree required.

2. Experience in organizing technical data in a neat and accurate method. Familiar with DSI specification system for construction.

3. Ability to work closely with trade and craft people in a field work situation. Patience and politeness essential and being able to maintain a cooperative attitude through pressure situations.

4. Skill in handling several work activities at once while frequently interrupted by phone calls and urgent questions on work in progress.

5. Training in blueprint reading and survey theory and techniques.

6. Highly developed visual observation and interpretation skills.

7. Ability to use personal computer, Windows, Microsoft Excel, Word and e-mail. Experience with critical path method scheduling software such as Suretrack Project Manager or Primavera Project Planner (P3) is helpful. Autocad experience is helpful as well.
