Duties: |
Essential Job Functions:
• Performs all the duties of the Network Engineer I.
• Assists the Network Engineering Supervisor with the design of network infrastructure.
• Deploys, configures, upgrades, and maintains network switching infrastructure components including core switches, distribution switches, routers, hubs, network monitoring appliances, and fiber optic components.
• Monitors the network to identify and correct bottlenecks, inefficiencies, configuration problems, and other anomalies.
• Proactively monitors and maintains intrusion detection systems to identify and neutralize network security threats.
• Deploys updated security patches and software revisions to all network infrastructure and intrusion detection systems.
• Processes work orders, prepares and maintains departmental records and reports.
• Performs all duties in strict compliance with Minimum Internal Controls 8 (MIC 8) ensuring network security, data integrity, system reliability, and highly effective disaster recovery processes and procedures are in place and closely adhered to.
• Functions in the capacity of the Network Engineering Supervisor in his absence.

Qualifications: |
Required Knowledge of:
• Server design principles and practices.
• Principles of server and network administration.
• Advanced network infrastructure and communication protocols in a Windows environment.
• Network security including the effective use of intrusion detection tools.
• Network monitoring technologies.
• Network systems relative to gaming operations.
Required Skill in:
• Maintenance and administration of computer networks.
• Monitoring and ensuring the proper functioning of the Casino’s network components.
• Effective use of advanced network troubleshooting tools and appliances.
• Network threat analysis using network intrusion detection systems.
• Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others.
Education, Experience, Licenses, Registrations, and Certifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field and five (5) years network engineering and server administration experience, or eight (8) years network engineering and server administration experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Certification as a Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), and Microsoft Certified Professional (Server) required, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), and Cisco Certified Security Professional (CCSP) preferred.
• Valid State of Oregon Driver’s license is required.
• High security gaming license issued by the Grand Ronde Gaming Commission.
Environmental Factors and Conditions/Physical Requirements:
• Work is performed in an office environment with occasional exposure to tobacco smoke and noise common to gaming environments.
• Work is subject to frequent sitting, intermittent walking, and occasional standing, walking, bending, reaching, crouching, crawling and lifting up to 40 pounds.
Equipment and Tools Utilized:
• Equipment utilized includes personal computer, standard office equipment, diagnostic equipment, and hand tools.
