The responsibility of the Planning & Inventory Control Manager is to ensure an optimized balance between inventory and customer service performance. He/She will manage team of supply planning and inventory functions, including Supply Planners and Inventory Analysts focusing on replenishment planning. This position is responsible for analysis of current processes with a goal to lead and coordinate process improvements for the supply chain organization, develop specific performance measurements required to monitor and exceed supply chain short and long term goals. |
Duties: |
- Develop, enhance, improve and document effective inventory management processes, including target setting and metrics.
- Effective management of department personnel by providing effective goal setting, delegation and ongoing communication of expectations.
- Lead and drive supply chain improvements which positively impact customer service, inventory management and forecast accuracy ie. Lead-time reductions, freight savings/avoidance or other cost savings endeavors.
- Provide 12 month rolling requirements plan to top suppliers to ensure inventory level and capacity are available to maintain our customer service level.
- Lead and drive Excess and Obsolete and SKU reduction process to maintain levels as stated in the company’s goals and objective.
- Manage the supply portion of the S&OP process, outputs through a time sensitive and detailed monthly process that supports existing Sales, Marketing, NPD and Finance goals.

Qualifications: |
- 4 year degree or equivalent.
- 5+ years in key aspects of forecasting, inventory control, supply planning & statistical analysis.
- Previous experience managing a team of 4 or more personnel.
- Proficient use of MS Excel/Access is required. Strong computer skills related to database management, ERP/MRP systems, data warehousing /reporting software (JDE &Cognos desirable).
