Description: | A Quality Assurance Lead Analyst is a person who designs and leads the overall QA program for the WPSS program while also performing key QA tasks such as test script development and execution, defect tracking, test coordination, and test environment verification for a program that consists of a mixture of in-house developed applications and customized, commercial software in a complex, secure, highly available Microsoft environment.
The Level III Quality Assurance Analyst is a position requiring 10+ years of demonstrated QA experience involving test methodology design and implementation along with hands on experience with writing test plans, test cases, test data and test database creation/sanitizing, problem tracking/resolution, coordinating test activities among multiple testers, and maintaining defect logs among other applied skills and knowledge.
Additionally, the candidate for this position will be responsible for the creation, coordination, and execution of manual and automated application tests. The candidate will review requirement and design documents as well as BPAs SDLC which provide guidance for defining test scenarios and writing manual and automated test scripts. The candidate will design and write tests which will be used in system integration, performance, and acceptance testing. The position requires advanced knowledge and experience with the HP Testing Tool Suite including: the design of Releases, Requirement and Test hierarchies and reports in Quality Center 10 (QC) and a familiarity with Quick Test Pro (QTP) and Load Runner (LR). Knowledge of Microsoft Team Foundation Server for source code and issue tracking is highly desirable.
| Qualifications: | Advance knowledge on the design and implementation of QA and testing methodologies in large complex systems using various development methodologies.
Advanced knowledge of test case design and test scripting writing for both manual and automated tests.
Advanced knowledge and experience with HP Quality Center (QC), and familiarity with Testing Tool Suites such as: Quick Test Pro (QTP) and Load Runner (LR).
Microsoft Operating Systems and Microsoft Office suite of products including virtualization of workstations and servers.
Formal SQA methodologies including software development life cycles, testing processes and standards
Ability to interpret and transform data models, business use case diagrams, environment and data needs into testing deliverables.
Ability to effectively present technical information to various audiences ranging from the client, developer to project manager
Database query tools such as DB Artisan or SQL Query Analyzer in a distributed client-server environment
Agile Software Development or XP product development methods and tools
Strong technical writing and the ability to present information in various forms such as textual, graphical and statistical
Sufficient to:
Develop the program wide Quality Plan and Testing Methodology in conjunction with Project and Development Management
Develop procedures, policies and systems to support QA efforts.
Facilitate the creation and management of standards and quality assurance procedures.
Facilitate quality assurance objectives for assigned projects.
Promote the establishment and consistent application of management and technical QA processes.
Identify risks as they are found.
Implement QA goals and objectives using the HP Testing Product Suite and other automated testing tools.
Develop testing approach, testing requirements, test plans, and both manual and automated test scripts to support functional and non-functional testing
Coordinate and manage testing activities among several test resources and subsystem deployments
Identify problems and recommend corrective actions
Promote quality assurance activities associated with Agency Projects as assigned.
Recommend processes for the monitoring and review of standards for consistency and goal definition.
Configure testing resources and tools to evaluate application functionality, integration, and performance.
Promote the setting of quality objectives.
Provide staff with insight into quality activities and resource requirements.
Promote consistent use of terminology across projects/departments within the company.
Assess standards for adequacy and applicability.
Project Identification
Assess project components as candidates for automated testing using standard application testing tools and resources.
Identify risks through review of current business practices and the impact the project may have on these practices.
Project Planning
Participate in planning sessions
Prepare project QA plan that identifies QA activities and assesses time and resource needs
Verify that plans are reviewed by all affected groups
Review process used for planning
Comment on project success criteria
Evaluate staffing needs and resources
Review and approve project plans
Assist in developing project timelines
Ensure that risks are properly identified and tracked
Participate in change reviews
Assist in the definition of project success criteria
Project/Product Definition
Ensure that requirements are identified
Verify that requirements are clear, needed and testable
Attend project and requirement reviews and code verification of automated test scripts
Review product design specifications
Review product interface specification
Help resolve requirement definition problems
Independently compare user needs to project requirements
Project Execution
Interface with all necessary project personnel including Project Management, QA testers, business analysts, and technical developers to ensure compliance with the Quality Plan and Testing Methodology
Review and recommend changes to Functional Software Requirement Specifications (SRS) in the form of use cases and other testing documents.
Perform technical writing.
Manage overall project QA efforts to include performing manual and automated functional QA testing and assisting other QA Testers
Identify problems and "track" them until they are resolved.
Monitor project progress and provide reports on risks.
Verify that Agency policies and procedures are followed.
Identify risks as they are found.
Review requirements with development staff to establish a common interpretation.
Ensure that activities are performed in accordance with plans, standards, and procedures.
Facilitate and coordinate creation of test requirements, plans, and manual and automated test scripts by functional users and technical leads
Product
Develop overarching Quality Plan and Testing Methodology for the program
Develop and review test plans, test specifications, test procedures, test reports, and manual and automated test scripts using HP Products QC, QTP and other testing products as requested.
Provide Test and Evaluation review
o Identify/report failures of product to meet requirements
o Identify/report deviations of product from requirements
o Track problem reports
o Verify corrections of problems
o Coordinate testing with the development team
o Test product interfaces
o Report to management on quality of product
Provide manual and automated test scripts
Certify readiness of product sequent.
