Duties:

BUSINESS ANALYST 2
(Business Process Analyst with Business Transformation emphasis)

This position is part of an effort to transform the processes in the Transmission Services Business. Specifically, this role will provide support for projects under the Integrated Project and Process Improvement (IPPI) Program. The resource will coordinate gathering and analyzing information and using standard tools and approaches to: clarify business operations, functions, problems, document/map the current and future states, identify solution alternatives, evaluate the alternatives, and define procedures. This position will also define and support implementation of a change management plan.
The resource has to be a strong leader while being a team player with the ability to work in an undefined and complex environment with limited direction. They have to be able to facilitate business stakeholder groups in the discovery of information from this environment, analyze it, and develop a clear picture of what the information means to the business. The business processes and data sources are numerous and not well integrated at this point so this position will be used to help suggest ways to improve integration.
This position needs to be open to limited travel, be able to adapt and work with a wide range of individuals including senior management and field personnel in industrial environments. They need to be able to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with an aggressive time line. In summary, this position will conduct detailed analysis, manage the development of future state initiatives, and support the business through the creation of a new vision.
Specific experience in Maintenance Management, Asset Management, or Equipment Analysis is desired.

Qualifications:

Major Responsibilities and Key Deliverables:

• Plan and facilitate working sessions to analyze and document/map current state processes and value streams, and future state processes and value streams
• Evaluate and assess business process change impacts and recommend appropriate change mitigation activities
• Develop an implementation plan for the future state processes
• Plan and facilitate decision-making Kaizen sessions with employees ranging from line workers to executives
• Design templates and tools to support the project management methodology

Additional Responsibilities:

• Facilitate meetings with both small and larger groups.
• Produce key project deliverable documents including: requirements, process diagrams, workflow maps, project plans, and change management plans
• Communicate with a wide variety of technical and business experts in both individual and group settings
• Decompose high-level information into details and abstract up from low-level information to resolve solution vs. requirements conflicts
• Negotiate priorities and resolve requirement conflicts among various stakeholders
• Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
• 5+ years demonstrated analyst experience in business process re-engineering, operational management, lean processes, statistical process control, and business transformation
• Prefer undergraduate college degree in operational management but can substitute specialized industry experience.
• Ability to carry out assigned tasks with a professional demeanor reflected in excellent written and oral communication skills, listening skills, patience, analytical reasoning and problem solving abilities
• Proven skills in process analysis, value stream mapping, re-engineering and optimization
• Strong analytical skills in analyzing, defining and documenting business areas, functions, problems, business needs and opportunities for improvement
• Self-directed and assertive in pursuit of root cause analysis, missing information and data requirements
• Ability to build credibility and trust among key project stakeholders
• Proficient in communication, facilitation and negotiation with stakeholder groups
• Strong technical writing skills and the ability to present information in various forms such as textual, graphical and statistical

Additional Skills Desired:

• Skills or experience in Lean and Six Sigma process analysis
• Energy/utility industry experience
• Maintenance Management, Asset Management, Equipment Analysis
• Skilled in the creation of Excel and Word documents, Power Point presentations and MS Project plans and the use of Visual Basic
• Ability to get up to speed quickly working with business subject matter experts to document business requirements in support of business strategy

• Familiarity with Project Management standards as documented in the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)
• Skill in modeling/mapping business process requirements, verification of deliverables
• Skilled in the definition and development of operational governance models to enable programmatic change
• Ability to meet timelines, milestones, deliverables and provide timely (weekly) status updates
• Proficiency with tools to support business analysis: MS Visio, Word, Excel (including Microsoft Office 2010)
